Second Annual Wine N ‘Shine Set for May 17 at The Crash Pad

Event to benefit The Speech & Hearing Center and Chattanooga Kids on the Block

Chattanooga, Tenn. – – – The Downtown Sertoma Club of Chattanooga will host its Second Annual Wine N ‘Shine event on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 7:00-11:00 pm at The Crash Pad.  The event benefits local non-profits The Speech & Hearing Center and Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block.

Guests will have the chance to try a variety of Junior Johnson Moonshine, several wines crafted by Georgia Winery, a seasonal selection of wines to Pair with Fork & Pie’s dinner offering, and local brews from Big River Grille. Guests will be entertained by local bands Old Time Travelers and Lou Wamp & Bluetastic Fangrass, with classic old time bluesy bluegrass music.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Speech & Hearing Center and Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block.  The Speech & Hearing Center is Chattanooga’s only non-profit center of its kind, serving both children and adults who are speech, language and/or hearing impaired.  The Speech & Hearing Center uses support from organizations and individuals to provide much-needed diagnostic and therapeutic services to individuals, regardless of their ability to fully afford services.

Kids on the Block, Inc. is an award winning international education program designed to help introduce children with special needs into school classrooms.  The program uses child size puppets to carry out its mission and is a licensed child abuse prevention agency in the state of Tennessee.

“Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block and The Speech & Hearing Center really care about the individuals they serve, and it shows day in and day out through the excellent service they provide to each individual,” said Shelly Killian, Downtown Sertoma President.  “We look forward to another successful Wine n ‘Shine this year, and invite the whole community to come out and celebrate these wonderful organizations with us.”

Tickets to the event are $40 per person in advance and $50 at the door.  For tickets and information, please visit sertomawineshine.com and get event updates by following Downtown Sertoma Club’s Wine N ‘Shine 2014 on Facebook.
